Changing jewellery can be tricky, but insert tapers make it much easier. These are long posts that gradually taper to the size of the jewellery being inserted. Tapers facilitate the uncomplicated exchange of jewellery, and are particularly useful when inserting press-on and threaded jewellery. Insertion tapers are intended for the insertion of jewellery into cured piercings only.
All insertion tapers have a tip on one end (the end that goes in first), and have a pin attached to the other larger end. The size of the enclosed pin is what distinguishes one pin connector from another: the slightly thicker “pin” style is used for threaded jewellery, while the thinner “pin” is used for press-fit jewellery. All cones measure between 2″-2 ⅝” long and are made of implant grade titanium or implant grade stainless steel.
